You have a great opportunity to strengthen your career and improve your value to your organization through a new two-year certificate program for state park managers. The State Park Leadership School is a highly experiential program that exposes you to the core competencies that are crucial for your effectiveness as a professional state park manager.
Each year of the school consists of both distance education and on-site components. In August of each year, you will receive DVDs that provide comprehensive instruction on individual topics. Each DVD will include study guides, sample test questions, and recommended supplemental resources for learning.
In January 2008 and 2009, you will participate in an exciting on-site experiential learning forum at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center. At the end of each year, you will take a written exam that will test your knowledge of the topics discussed. You must receive an average score of 70% to pass the School and earn your certificate.
