SMS: A program designed to develop your management & supervisory skills.

SMS LogoThe Supervisors’ Management School will provide you with the necessary tools to improve your ability to impact the day-to-day activities of your organization. If you supervise any number of full or part-time employees, you will gain a strong understanding of the principles of managing people and influencing co-workers and supervisors.

The School format is interactive and you should be prepared to participate by bringing your work experience and issues to the classroom. The program is designed for staff working in organizations such as auditoriums, cemeteries, parks and recreation, public works, stadiums, zoos, libraries, etc.

You will benefit from a strong instructional program consisting of two annual, four-day sessions of classroom study and participation including opportunities for you to practice new techniques. Attendance is required for all scheduled class sessions and activities to receive CEUs from North Carolina State University.

Oglebay Resort provides a wonderful learning environment conducive to maximum student interaction beyond the classroom setting. You will have opportunities to observe and tour a world-class self-sustaining park operation that is unlike any other.

Rooms, Meals and Travel

The registration fee does not cover the cost of lodging. Rates include 5 nights lodging, Sunday dinner, 4 breakfasts, Friday continental breakfast, 4 lunches, all refreshment breaks and graduation banquet.

$895++ - Single Premium (new addition room)

All rates are plus WV taxes.

Early arrivals (Friday and/or Saturday) will be charged for a standard single or for a premium room. Meals are not included on early arrival days. A room reservation form will be mailed to you with your registration confirmation. Any questions regarding lodging should be directed to Wilson Lodge at 304.243.4000.

How to Register

Registration usually begins in early to mid-summer. The number of participants is limited and registrations will be accepted in the order they are received. Payment or purchase order must accompany registration.

You can register online, by calling our office or by faxing or mailing in your registration form with payment. First year students must enroll by 09/30/2009.

$595 per person if received on or before September 30, 2009

$645 if received on or after October 1, 2009

TEAM DISCOUNT:

Send 3 or more employees from the same agency. Each additional employee's fee will be $575 on or before September 30, 2009 and $625 after October 1, 2009.
