About Us

The N.C. State Office of Professional Development (OPD) is a unit of the office of Continuing and Professional Education and is dedicated to the development of professional training courses. We offer you a broad range of quality educational opportunities and a flexible, comfortable and affordable learning environment.

OPD offers a variety of experiences to assist in the development of professionals and their work including conferences, seminars, and in-house/on-site training upon request. For most courses, we can either bring our instructors to your site or provide space at the McKimmon Center to present the same course as presented on campus at NC State, or modify it to meet your specific needs.
